About

I am a senior in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, graduating in December 2026 and staying on for a master's in mechanical engineering. I design hardware: a cryogenic fill valve for a student-built liquid rocket, an inline load absorber for wave energy converter moorings, a feeder mechanism for a sport I play.

I grew up in Manila and went to high school there. As treasurer of a youth-run nonprofit distributing solar lighting to off-grid communities in the Philippines, I spent time in provinces where the productive day ended at sunset and children studied by kerosene. That did not tell me what to build, but it told me what was worth building toward. Energy access sits on top of poverty, health, education and climate at the same time, and the gap between what exists and what is needed is visible from where I first saw it.

I play badminton on Michigan's collegiate team, which is how the shuttlecock launcher started, and I climb, which is where I first got used to the idea that there is more than one way up and you pick the one that suits you.

I am looking for product design engineering work in clean energy, automotive or mechatronics.
